Brixia Tour – Ulissi 3rd in the final overall standing

The last stage of Brixia Tour, 164,6 km from Calcinato to Verona, didn’t change the overall standing of Brixia Tour: the race ended in a massive sprint won by Modolo on Riccio and Fernandez. No riders from Lampre-ISD in the top 10, but one blue-fucsia cyclist obtained a very good place in the overall standing: Ulissi finished the race in 3rd position, at 2’19″ to the winner Baliani.
Ulissi won also the young riders classification.

“The 3rd position in the overall classification and the white jersey of best young athlete are very good results – Ulissi said – Brixia Tour was one of my early races after the paused that followed a very good first part of season, so I think that I realized very good perfomances”.

Sport director Tebaldi too is satisfied: “Ulissi confirmed all his qualities: it’s a pity that the breakaway of the 1st stage characterized the overall standing, but Diego can be satisfied for what he showed in Brixia Tour, especially in the stage of Passo Maniva. Quite good performances by the rest of the team too”.
