The new jersey of Team LAMPRE-MERIDA made today its debut in an official competition: it happened in Australian national championship.
Matthew Lloyd (photo archive Pisoni) could not add a second national champion jersey to the one he got in 2008.
The Aussie from LAMPRE-MERIDA obtained the 19th place in the race for the Autralian title that took place on Buninyoung. At the end of 195 km course, Durbridge perform a solo arrival, while the first chasers group crossed the finish line at 1’04″.
Lloyd completed his performance in this group.
“I had good feelings and I was willing to try to make my move, but Orica Green Edge manage well to control the race - Lloyd explained - My fit is quite good, I’m going to perform trainings in the those days before Tour Down Under start. I would have really liked to give the team the first seasonal victory, in order also to greet in the best way the new bike”.
