Very fast sprint on a long slightly downill to the arrival in Turgutreis of the 5th stage of Tour of Turkey (183 km, start from Marmaris).
When there is speed, Niccolò Bonifazio (photo Bettini/Biondi)is there: after having obtained one 3rd place and one 4th place in the previous stages, LAMPRE-MERIDA’s sprinter got once again a place in the top ten, crossing the finish line in 8th position.
Bonifazio could have obtained an even better result if he would had not faced problems in finding the proper space to start the sprint. In fact, he dribbled wheels and handlebars before having the chance to exploit his power: his recover led his to the 8th place.
Viviani won the sprint preceding Cavendish; no changes in the overall classification where Taaramae is still leader and Durasek is 11th (+44″)..
