Oliveira wins again in Portugal: he’s the road race champion

Nelson Oliveira added another national champion jersey to his 2014 collection.
After having won the Portuguese time trial title, preceding the team mate Rui Costa, the twenty-five years old from Team LAMPRE-MERIDA won also the road title (Sabugal-Sabugal, 201 km), preceding Sousa for 5″ and Machado for 12″.

This is a first time for Oliveira (photo Bettini, archive), who had never crossed for first a finish line in his pro career, since he had only won time trial races (two national championships, 2011 and 2014).

LAMPRE-MERIDA won 18 races in 2014 until now.

No other top performances by LAMPRE-MERIDA’s athletes in other Countires national championship: nor Polanc, nor Niemiec could enter in the top 10 in Slovenia and Poland.
